Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)
Stimulates acupressure points by pressure and tapping while speaking of stressful situations as guided by the EFT practitioner.

Tapping exercises combine elements of cognitive restructuring while one touches: top of head; eyebrows; under/side of eyes; under nose; chin; collarbone; and under arm. Meridians cross at these points and are considered power points.

Any time a thought that doesn't serve the person can be isolated it is beneficial to speak it out loud and then craft it into a statement that enhances the growth of the person. As you gain experience and this awareness you may immediately catch yourself out of balance and tap those points reducing your stress.
My EFT training in 2015 followed the teachings of Gary Craig, Founder, 1981. Previously, I had many incongruent negative thoughts and took EFT training after achieving a high degree of self awareness and positivity. Still, I was amazed that I could go deeper and easily remove more blocks.
Some applications of EFT are:
-
Body healthy image
-
Grief
-
Changes in relationships/divorce
-
Chronic pain
-
Sports performance
-
Migraines/headaches
-
Conflict
-
Recovery
-
Self acceptance
-
Anxiety
-
Confidence
-
Addiction
-
Resistance
-
Stress
-
Burnout
When you have learned this technique you can continue on your own but initially, it is good to work with a trained practitioner who listens to self talk objectively.

I know of many stress techniques that I use for myself and still go back to this one for holiday dinners and long drives (passenger) in the car. When I worked in prisons, I would tap in the parking lot to make sure I was calm before entering.
